As those of us that do research in the world of games know, the word “gamification” started popping up in conferences and symposia around 2004 and had pretty much become a part of the vocabulary of the research and practice of games (especially Serious Games) by 2010. This infographic does a decent job of expressing the value of gamification for educators.
