You can become a member, make your own cool character and enter competitions. When you are a member you can comment across the site and answer questions in your turn to practise your reading and writing. Learner.org presents a series called Connect with English. A video instructional series in English as a second language for college and high school classrooms and adult learners; 50 fifteen-minute video programs and coordinated books.
Lil' Fingers is a storybook site for toddlers with educational games, storybooks and coloring pages. Free toddler stories, activities & holiday sections are designed with bright colors & big buttons for little fingers.
Literactive is a leading provider of reading material for pre-school, kindergarten and grade one students available online. The program is comprised of carefully levelled guided readers, comprehensive phonic activities and a wealth of supplemental reading material which gradually develop a child's reading skills in a sequential and enjoyable manner. Though made for native English speakers, the tools are all useful for ESL readers. Developed and approved by teachers and parents across the United States, Literactive is an acknowledged leader in early learning online. All the material is available for free from the site but you need to register.
The Literacy Center Education Network is a non-profit organization with a mission to deliver free, professionally-designed, education material to <strong>preschool-age children</strong>. Utilizing the power of the Internet, they distribute education material directly to children in their homes, libraries, and schools. In addition to tools to study English, students can study French, German and Spanish as well.
Many Things is a web site is for people studying English as a Second Language (ESL) or English as a Foreign Language (EFL). There are quizzes, word games, word puzzles, proverbs, slang expressions, anagrams, a random-sentence generator and other computer assisted language learning activities.
With Games, videos and print projects all based on the "Martha" books, Marth Speaks is a fun learning resource for younger students. The Martha Speaks Web site has lots of stuff kids can do on their own. The games, videos, and activities are fun, and they help kids learn new words, too! Mary's English Course are ESL English courses specifically designed for adults learning English and are intended as revision/refresher courses or as introductory courses for the language normally taught at each level. Launched in January 2002, Reading A-Z has more than 170,000 members and has won a number of educational awards for its innovation in reading instruction. Reading A-Z is a constantly changing program, it currently has more than 2,500 downloadable books. Each month, Reading A-Z adds new books, lesson plans, and other resources, thus continually expanding its wealth of materials.

Where children have fun learning to read!
The Screen Actors Guild (Movie Stars) read stories for children in online streaming videos. Each story includes activities and ideas for teachers too! Though the stories are for children, many adults will still find the stories fun for listening practice.
Operated by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, The StoryPlace Pre-school Library is full of great activities for students to explore. Mostly for pre-school students, many of the activities are also fun for older, but beginner students.
Study English Today offers free online English lessons and English grammar for ESL and EFL learners. Includes also tests, English alphabet with pictures of animals, poetry and lyrics.
The Tiny TEFL Teacher website is for students who want to learn English grammar. If you are a student studying for the FCE exam, try the FCE exam practice.

Vocabulary A–Z offers a variety of ways to support vocabulary learning. The website database contains thousands of vocabulary words, and they add new words daily. Additionally, users can access pre-made lessons for Reading A–Z leveled books.
The Westcoast Reader is a newspaper for adults who are improving their English reading skills. The newspaper is published from September to June by Capilano University with assistance from the B.C. Ministry of Advanced Education and Pacific Newspaper Group, publishers of The Province and The Vancouver Sun.
